After a day of sunshine and blue waters, everyone will love gathering for a homecooked meal in the dining area as the sun dips behind the trees. If you are looking for a more casual meal option, simply fire up the gas grill and cook up some burgers in the fresh air. Plus, tired hiking legs can be soothed with ease in the private hot tub on the covered deck! The free WiFi and flatscreen TV in the living room will make for the ideal combination when everyone is settling down for the evening, so play a favorite movie and whip up a bowl of popcorn!
Sitting within walking distance of the white sand at Meeks Bay, a day of swimming, fishing, or kayaking won't be hard to find. If a morning hike is on the agenda, head over to Meeks Bay Trailhead (half-mile), Balancing Rock Nature Trail (seven miles), or Emerald Bay State Park (six miles)! When the colder months come around, head over to Homewood (five miles north) and make a day of shredding fresh powder.

Summary: The pictures in this listing do not reflect the condition or cleanliness of the property. It is worn down, cluttered and not well maintained. Ants on the counter due to spilled sugar in the cupboards. Dusty with cobwebs in windows, screens missing or frayed. Nice location walking distance to the beach at Meeks Bay, however directly on Emerald Bay Road so there was road noise from that side of the house. Beds were clean and comfortable, bathrooms generally clean. The living room furnishings were worn, stained, couch cushions ripped, cooking utensils were random, poor quality. Nice stove/oven and refrigerator. Carpet dirty and worn, basement musty. Grill rusted out and unusable. BE AWAREโ€ฆ There is NO signage or information anywhere about the electrified bear fence and mat at the front door which were turned on when we arrived. Bring from Minnesota, we were unfamiliar. Our son stepped on the welcome mat in bare feet while holding his one year old and got a shock strong enough to deter a bear. We called VACASA immediately and they offered no explanation or remedy. Google finally provided the answer and we turned the electricity to the unit off. We made the best of a disappointing situation and enjoyed nearby hiking and biking.
