Nestled on the banks of the Laboreiro River, we find these ancient mills known as the quot;Mills of Poço Verde.quot; They have been restored to comfortably accommodate all those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and allow themselves to be lulled by the sound of the fresh waters of the Laboreiro River, which once turned the millstones that skillfully ground not only grains but also cocoa. This is because these mills supported the grinding necessary for the chocolate factory that existed in the same place, dating back to the early 20th century.
Well-equipped and comfortably decorated, they invite long conversations by the fireplace in winter or, in summer, a refreshing swim in the Laboreiro River or in the natural pools of Poço Verde, located next to these mills and giving this place its name.
