Welcome to the Barn Swallow, our beloved Dairy Barn!
This fully updated and accessible first floor lodging accommodates 4 guests (and two pets) of all ages and abilities. We do not allow cats however due to allergy issues. We do require our guests to crate your dog when you have left the house. We have (2) 3x4 crates for your use.
Enjoy comfort and privacy inside and 11.5 country acres outside, close to restaurants, Tanger Outlet, hospitals, Gun Lake casino, Grand Rapids, and much more.
The 1st level of our Barn House is perfect for family vacations or simply gathering with friends.
What Is the Barn Swallow Manor?
Built in the early 1900s, the original dairy barn and horse stable was fully converted in 2008-2009 and updated in the summer of 2022. The property boasts 11.5 charming country acres with beautiful views and a creek running through the center. Feel free to walk our fields and see turkeys, hawks, crane, deer, and possibly a bald eagle.
The Space: You will have the entire FIRST floor and lodging is completely separate from the rest of the house and surrounded by farmland and very few neighbors.
Handicap Accessibility: The house is accessible for people of all abilities. Built with every situation in mind, this home has 36โ doors, is step free and barrier free, and has a powerlift reclining chairs. Bathing is easy with an oversized shower and walk-in tub. If you need a shower chair, please ask ahead of your stay.
Energy Efficient: The house is built with Earth friendly โgreen featuresโ including energy efficient windows, closed cell spray foam insulation, and geothermal heating/cooling forced air with energy efficient in-floor radiant heat. Even in the worst of weather you will have electricity with our whole house backup generator.
Family Friendly: We provide two roll away cribs, a pack & play, changing table, highchair, baby utensils, plastic kid bowls and bib. Two of the bedrooms have chairs that turn into beds, perfect for a child to sleep in their parents' room.
Bedrooms: Spread out into four bedrooms. The four queen beds and one king bed each have four pillows with two different levels of comfort and extra blankets. Touch lamps are at most bedsides. All nightstand lamps have USB ports.
Bathrooms: The two full bathrooms and one half-bath are fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, and hair dryers.
Kitchen: The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your food, plus a closet full of extras like a blender for smoothies, George Foreman grill, waffle maker, Instant Pot, crock pot, and electric griddle.
Dining Area: Seat 10-12 people around the table. Enjoy the coffee bar with a Keurig and complimentary K-cups.
Living Room: This spacious area has two couches, four comfortable loungers, and a workstation perfect for longer stays and business trips. Kick back with the Roku and plenty of movies and books.
Den: This smaller area is stocked with several games, houses a desk with a printer, and offers comfortable seating.
Laundry: Take advantage of the washer and detergent, dryer, iron and ironing board.
3-Season Porch: This 12x3โ room is private/unshared and comfortably furnished.
Fenced Back Yard: Enjoy a walking/jogging track and the lush lawn, perfect for a game of Corn Hole.

The entrance to the First floor accommodations is through the front door which has a digital code, once you are in the foyer there is a second coded door to your private space. Parking is out front and the pole barn and garage is not a part of the rental.
