Positive: The apartment is really close to the train station - about a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk. It's also close to some restaurants and many convenience stores. The mahjong table was a wonderful addition, we spent every night playing. The host and housekeeper were also very polite and tried to address some of our concerns about the cameras and the payment issues, but it was hard to reach them at first as they were only available on the Line app, which we did not have.

Negative: We were really looking forward to our stay at Summer Station because of the photos and great reviews. Unfortunately, we found the house sorely lacking in many ways. Firstly, there were cameras in the living room and stairway. The code to the main gate seemed to be known to strangers - someone who drove a delivery van just walked in to the property unannounced. This made us feel exposed and quite uncomfortable. We were also not told in advance that the property only accepted cash or payment via Taiwan bank transfer for the booking, and so we were quite unpleasantly surprised when the housekeeper showed up in the evening asking for payment. (This was eventually resolved when the host set up a separate booking on their own website for us to pay via credit card, since as foreigners we did not hold enough cash or Taiwanese bank accounts.) In addition, the bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper floors smelt of mould, the bedroom on the third floor was constantly wet and musky, there was no hand wash in any of the bathrooms (though shampoo and shower gel was provided) and the kitchen was in a really bad shape. The cooking utensils were scratched and stained, and the fridge was filled with condiments other guests had left behind. Overall, this was not a comfortable stay, and while we decided not to move to another property, I would not recommend this to anyone else.
