Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Friendly host who gave good recommendations. Well situated just a block from the seafront Bedrooms were a good size with lovely bedding and plenty storage space Living area small but with a comfortable sofa and a nice size TV Nice touch to leave wine and water but the lack of an electric kettle meant water had to be boiled in a pan on the stove!
Negative: Kitchen was very narrow and would have benefitted from a kettle. The bathroom, especially the shower, is absolutely tiny, even for two regular size people. Two main problems we found were: Windows - although rooms had windows they were small with no view or natural light. They looked onto walls or worse, a bottle storage facility for the bar below. Noise - although we expected noise on New Years Eve, it was a problem on all other nights too. Firstly the building isn't very well soundproofed in general and then on the night of 30th December they were building an outdoor bar right below the window to the double room until well after midnight. So inconsiderate to residents and guests alike. Also crates and bottles were stored there and rattled constantly. We had to move into the other bedroom eventually which was only slightly less noisy.
Summary: Pleasant stay unfortunately ruined by noise
