Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: My room was comfortable and I had been upgraded because of a misunderstanding about storing my bike overnight. The windows were opaque, no view, but when I opened a window I realised that they overlooked pipes and backs of yards, not what one would want to look out on! It was a convenient place to stay overnight and very close to Red Funnel Ferries and the centre of town.

Negative: I had asked for safe storage of my bike overnight as I was on a cycling trip, however, I was directed to a lock-up facility on the harbour wall. I was anxious about using this but it turned out to be secure, though visible to passers-by. I was able to lock my bike to a metal frame and it was still there in the morning!

Summary: Useful and convenient overnight bed for the night on my round the island cycle trip.
