Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Loved the classic stone cottage and period features - e.g exposed beams . We thought the location was very good - the short walk to the pub that served excellent food and had tables with views along the river was a real plus. Walks you can do directly from cottage are good. Easy drives (15-20mins) to Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and well furnished. Kitchen/utility room were well equipped. Parking was tricky but doable with the adjacent cottages parking spaces occupied.

Negative: The real let down for us was the condition of the sofas in the living room. They were dirty and the larger sofa's back cushions were missing. The bed linen, pillows and duvets need renewing. The kitchen and living room also has a strong smell of cooking - maybe due to what the previous occupants had liked to cook but not great to smell when you walk into a property and it lingered for the week.

Summary: The property has some positives but not enough for us to book again.
