Turtle Moon Cottage - Tybee | House in Tybee Island

This historic raised beach cottage was built in 1935. It still has the beautiful, original pine walls and floors.

Ideal location on a quiet residential street, but only 1/4 mile from the beach or the bars and restaurants on the south end of the island. There is a wonderful 2nd story porch to enjoy.

The cottage has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The front bedroom has gauzy curtains, full sunlight during the day, and a softer mattress. The back bedroom has heavy room-darkening curtains, less street noise, and has a firmer mattress. The bathroom has been beautifully remodeled .

There is a 10-cup coffee maker and a Keurig in the kitchen. We provide a few k-cups, coffeemate, and sweetners.

If you want to cook, you may, but you are expected to clean the kitchen after you finish. When we are staying there, we often cook, so the kitchen is well stocked with spices, good knives, condiments, etc.

There is a smart (internet) TV; a stereo that plays records, tapes, CDs, and radio; and a DVD player in the living room in the wicker armoire. The TV remote is pretty self explanatory. There are Netflix and Disney plus guest profiles already set up. There is also a connection to Amazon music.

We have a lot of "beach stuff" for you to use when here: beach wagon, wheeled coolers, chairs, floats, sand toys, beach towels, etc

The rental unit is the upstairs floor of the house with the exception of the back porch that I use for storage. There is a mother-in-law suite downstairs that is rented to year-round tenants.

The 2nd story porch seems to be where guests spend most of their time when not on the beach. It offers amazing people watching and a sea breeze all day long. There is comfortable seating and there are ceiling fans. It also offers a perfect seat to watch fireworks when Tybee sets them off.

There is wi-fi available for your use.

Tybee is a quirky island. When you drive the ten miles through the marsh from the nearest island, you leave the worries of the world behind you. You can feel the stress melt away as you move in to island time.

We are sharing our personal beach house with those who are staying. It is a safety decision to only welcome guests into our home who have a government ID on file with airbnb. Children are welcome to stay, but this is an older home and is definitely not child proofed. Animals are not welcome - this is not flexible. We have made significant efforts to provide an environment that is allergen free as possible - all tile and hardwood flooring, no rugs, centrally located hepa filter, etc.
