Set more than 1,100 feet above sea level, the villa features one of the most sought-after sightlines around, that of the spectacular natural formation known as the Whale's Tail. This rocky reef, which was naturally formed by the ocean waves into the shape of a whale's tail, can be viewed from multiple spots in the villa during low tide.
In fact, at no point will you go without this spectacular ocean view as the kitchen, dining room, living room and bedrooms have all been designed to maximize the feel of being perched high above the beautiful blue pacific. From your spot on the living room sofa, which is the shade of the sea, gaze out over a bubbling jacuzzi and refreshing infinity pool, out into the ocean and experience the full relaxation of a luxury beach vacation in tropical paradise.
Gema Escondida offers guests a one-of-a-kind luxury experience, capturing the essence of indoor-outdoor living perfectly, and can sleep 6 people in beds and room for 2 more on inflatable bed. Due to its design, the house isn't suited for children under 13 years of age. Construction of this premier villa, which features two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms in the main villa, plus a guest house, was completed in mid 2017 and no detail has been overlooked.
With state-of-the-art Whirlpool amenities, marble counters and some fancy lighting fixtures, this luxe all-white ocean-view kitchen will please the chef in your group. Pull up a stool at the breakfast bar while the Costa Rican coffee is brewing. And the top-of-the-line built-in BBQ with outdoor fridge, counter and sink make it a cinch to grill up fresh local fish poolside.
Beside the kitchen is a dining area with a full ocean view and seating for eight. And in the living area are two sofas, a television and coffee table. The sliders fully open to blend the outdoor and indoor spaces. The patio outside offers plenty of lounge chairs and seating near the pool.
The villas two bedrooms are located upstairs and feature ocean views and walk-out balconies with seating perfect for sunsets and stargazing. Each room has an expansive king-size bed, en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning unit. One bathroom features a dual shower head, and an additional outdoor shower is located near the pool.
About 50 yards from the main villa is the guest house, equipped with a king-size bed, walk-in wardrobe, and bathroom with shower.
The villa also comes equipped with wireless internet service, covered parking for two cars, a secured safe for your valuables as well as a laundry room with a washer and dryer unit. There is an additional blowup mattress in the villa as well.
This luxurious vacation villa is located in the Costa Verde property development, about 20 minutes off the coastal highway and almost directly centered between the towns of Dominical and Uvita, where you can find restaurants, grocery stores, and pharmacies. The road to the development features both dirt and concrete, and a 4x4 vehicle is required. There is a security gate to enter the grounds with a full-time guard on duty. This area is extremely safe and incredibly beautiful. Because it's located high in the cloud forest, the temperature here is often 10 degrees cooler than down at the beach.
As guests in the Costa Verde Estate development, your group will have access to a helicopter pad in case you prefer to come down in a helicopter or serious medical emergencies.
Community tennis courts and exercise area are available free of charge.

We will assist with making any necessary transportation arrangements from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (SJO), or Quepos regional airport, which is approximately 60 minutes from the property. We can assist in lining up either a private airplane shuttle, helicopter or guests can book a flight on Sansa Airlines, which has multiple flights per day.
We will arrange all excursions/activities/tours with reputable companies in the area, provide a link for grocery delivery, and make reservations at any restaurant. Our goal is to make your trip to Costa Rica enjoyable and as relaxing as you want it to be.
Costa Verde Estates is THE exclusive gated community in the area. Guests will have access to the community tennis court and the community exercise center.
Uvita and Dominical have some of Costa Rica's best beaches, wonderful restaurants and variety of options, (coffee shops, microbrewery, local, fine dining), grocery stores, banks and pharmacies.
~15 minutes from the property is a small commercial center with grocery store, coffee shop and a restaurant nestled in the jungle.
The highlight is Marino Ballena National Park, featuring the famous sandy "Whale Tail" where migrating humpback whales can be seen just offshore. You can whale watch, dolphin watch or snorkel.
Dominical is a fun, funky hippie and counterculturist enclave with great shops, dining, live music, candlelight yoga, spas, bars and beach.
The growing town of Ojochal is 9 to the South and is known as one of the best foodie town in Costa Rica. Ojochal also offers easy access to Playa Ventanas, a small and beautiful beach famous for its sea caves.
For those who enjoy golfing, the southern pacific's only golf course, Osa Golf Course, is an easy 50 minute drive (they have golf clubs for rent).

The property is a private home with no shared spaces. Guests will have the exclusive use of the property and the PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL.
A 4x4 vehicle is REQUIRED to access the property. No exceptions.
